11 March 2011 there was a large earthquake and tsunami in Sendai, and a lot of people died or suffered great losses; however, everyone in this region has worked very hard. Our town was able to recover, and reconstruct. There are no problems with transportation, lodging,or the convention venue. Some people outside of Japan are afraid of radioactivity in Fukushima, but our government and national organizations have determined there is no public adverse effects. The fact that we can have this NA convention in Sendai, where the tsunami struck, is a gift of the Higher Power. We hope that NA members come from around the world. Please come to Sendai, everyone!!
